    New Head Modeling Tutorial

Hello all. If any of you have been looking for a low poly head modeling tutorial, I've got one up on my site. It's pretty thorough, and you should be able to make the model shown above. This is the same technique that I was teaching at the Discreet booth at GDC, but with a new character.

Just hit up my site, and go to tutorials.

    Have fun!

Thanks for the tutorial. I learned something new, I thought you could only extrude edges in editible meshes. Very cool this will speed up my workflow quite a bit. Never too old to learn something new

Hey Paul, in Max 4 you couldn't Shift/Move edges to extrude them in EPoly. This is new to 5. Since they've included this in 5, I rarely use Edit Mesh any more, as E-Poly's toolset is just so much more powerful.

Thanks for checking things out everyone. I hope its useful, but if you hit any sticking points, just let me know so that I can update it.

Ryno, a question, when I shift-move the edge I clone it, not extrude it...is this something to do with settings?

You are using Editable Poly, right? Edge Sub-Object Mode? Move Transform? Using Max 5? (Shift moving edges won't work in EPoly in 4.)

Not trying to sound condescending here, just trying to figure out what's the sticking point.

Don't worry, I'm glad of your help so it doesnt sound condescending at all I also feel very stupid, as I must have been using edit mesh by mistake, all is well now (so if you felt like condescending you'd have been more than entitled to ). I'd like to say its because its late here but its not that late...
